Capsule - Candy Cutie
Capsule - Candy Cutie
I finally got to mapping songs on my own, which I wanted for a really long time but didn't get to it.
I just finished my first song, and would like to put it on here. I'm planning to make a lot more songs after this one of course.
Can my song get reviewed so I could become a creator? I would love to make my songs available for everyone!
I also have a video to go with it, but the file size is too large. I might try buying super to get the file size down, but I was wonder if there are free alternatives too?

hi @Melty what's the file size?
¿no sabes cómo configurar tus micros? ¿no sabes descargar? ¿problemas? Quizás tu duda ya ha sido resuelta en la sección de Ayuda (arriba en la web)
The video file is 37050 kb.
37mb that's a tiny size for a video. Not problem

Ooh ok! I thought it was too big cause I couldn't upload a file this big in this post!
But it is a pretty low resolution low quality video so I guess it's fine

If you can get a new one with better resolution (1080p) will be perfect. The forum is used only to check your song (txt + mp3). Once you belong to creator's group you'll receive the steps to upload the whole song

It was the best version I could find, it's an old song and the video is rare, sadly.
I hope my song can be checked soon!

Hello.
Let's first fix some technical issues.
Naming convention on this site is to have all file names as "Artist - Title.extension". If song has video then there is no need for background tag. If song has no video, but background instead then it's file should be named "Artist - Title [BG].extension" and cover should be changed to "Artist - Title [CO].extension"
So in your case all files should be named "Capsule feat. Sonic Coaster Pop - Candy Cutie.extension" (eg. "Capsule feat. Sonic Coaster Pop - Candy Cutie.mp3")
There is no "#YEAR:" tag in your txt. It should have the release year of the song.
And to make things more clear to look at please move "#MP3:" tag under "#LANGUAGE:".
Moving to the song itself.
0. Delete those page breaks at the begining of txt file
"- -168
- 212"
Even if for other kind of karaoke you do things like hiding lyrics on longer instrumental parts, it is not recommended to do so here.
1. BPM. I have no idea where you found your current value, but for the future usually it's best to check it out via other program (like MixMeister BPM Analyzer). For your mp3 it shows me bpm 155,01, not the 160 you put there. But changing bpm for already existing synchronization will ruin it so here is your choice. We either gonna continiue on current, invalid one or you will change it and you will have to do synchronization again, from scratch. Anyway no matter if you stick to the previous value or change it, both numbers are too low for optimal synchronization, so you gonna need to multiply it by 2. Easiest way to do that is by opening txt in yass and clicking ctrl+m once. Now you should have bpm over 300. You can check it in Edit->Lyrics Gap & Beats.
2. GAP shouldn't have a random value. It should mark the starting position of first note. Easiest way to fix that is by opening "view errors" window in yass, finding out "Non-zero first beat" position and clicking "Correct". Program will fix it for you. While you are in that windom already you can also fix weird page breaks. Just click the middle square in the down right part of the window. For now you don't have to worry that it will change color to red.
3. There must be at least one square break between each note. Besides natural gaps in singing it is to let the singer to switch from one syllable to the other, especially when they are on different tones. To make it fastest way first mark all notes in the line beside the last one and click alt+left arrow once or twice.
Once you are done with those we will move forward to synchronization and tones correction. Don't hesitate to ask if you have trouble with something or instructions are not clear enough.

Thank you so much! Your explanation is really clear. I will try to fix everything including the bpm.

Fixing synchronization for whole song after bpm change gonna take a painful while, so if you want you can fix like 5-10 first lines and show them for checking. We will work later on smaller parts one by one anyway.

Alright! It might take a while till I finish, because I've been busy and I'm on vacation next week, but I will definitely make work of it.
I ran through all your steps, and fixed the timing on the first half of the song. Could you check on it please?

@Melty if you haven't changed the mp3, upload only the txt. Would be better if you put the text inside the tags [ CODE ] here your song [ /CODE ] using the fifth button: </>

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by putting the text inside the tags. What text am I supposed to tag where?
Here's just the txt file:

Sorry for that long delay.
Txt and bpm looks good now so we can focus on other things.
After bpm change we still need to adjust the synchronization. So here are corrections for first two lines:
L1: "to" lasts 1 less. Same for "kai".
Move "no" by 1 to the left (just mark the note and use shift + left arrow).
"hi" lasts 1 less. Same for "to".
"wa" starts 1 earlier, whole note should have lenght 5.
"mi" lasts 2 less.
Move "n" by 1 to the left. Same for "na".
L2:
Move first "be" by 3 to the left.
"ru" starts 2 earlier (note duration should be 5).
"to" starts 1 earlier and has duration 2.
"kon" lasts 1 less.
Second "be" lasts 3 less.
From what I found コンベア part transliterates into "konbea", not "konbeya". The "-" at the end of word is redundant. After fixing lyrics move "a" by one to the left and then split it. "a" should be one tone lower (on same level as "kon") with duration 2. The resulting "~" should start one earlier and has duration 2.
"de" should have duration 7.
After corrections those two lines should look like this:
If you haven't seen it already there is a tutorial on youtube that shows how to adjust the timing with the help of auxillary note.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcrItLR_54g
About lyrics. "~" should appear only if there is a pitch change in syllable (like it happend in "kon-be-a-~"), so you should remove it from all "candy cutie" parts. Also "-" between doubled letters is uneccessary so it should be "ootomeishon" and "kaado" instead of "o-otomeishon" and "ka-ado".
There is also a little additional thing. In theory it's not really an error as the program doesn't recognise the true pitch, so it will let you sing eg. C3 on C2 without cutting points. But my ears does hear the difference, so I would be greatful if you would lower the pitch of notes in whole song by one octave.
Besides what I mentioned already please check the timing of lines 3-6 with the method shown in video. Then we will continue.
